International Energy Seminar on Smart Community Proposals for Reconstructing the Disaster Affected Areas

With the first anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake fast approaching, an international energy seminar on smart communities was held in Fukushima Prefecture on Friday, 2nd of March. Participants include citizens from the areas affected by the disaster, relevant international organisations, foreign missions in Japan and companies operating in fields related to smart communities. In this seminar, specialists from both with in and outside Japan introduced varieties of advanced initiatives geared to smart communities. Many local municipalities that suffered damage as a result of the Great East Japan Earthquake, including Fukushima Prefecture, are seeking to create new communities. This is by way of encouraging the use of renewable energies, and to disseminate this effort to inside and outside of Japan. FS Vocea attended this seminar on behalf of the Fiji Embassy.
