Consultation with Global Service Agent (GSA) Co Ltd – 10 November, 2011

The consultation with the Ambassador was held at the request GSA Executives to explore the prospects of ‘preserved flower’ business opportunities in Fiji. It was noted and observed at the meeting the available resources and markets in Fiji that GSA can consider apart from its offshore markets. Fiji’s tourism sector for instance is an established market for preserved flowers and the demand for this product continues to grow as a result of expansion in Fiji’s tourism market. Fiji’s educated workforce coupled with the growing interest within Fiji’s floriculture industry was also explained to the company to consider in their business planning for Fiji.

GSA Co Ltd (Japan) will now consider an exploratory visit to Fiji. This is an extension of the CHIE NO WA KAI Forum, a ‘think tank group’ of businessmen and women in Tokyo formed to exchange information on investment opportunities. The Embassy has been liaising closely with this forum as part of our marketing initiatives of Trade & Investment opportunities in Fiji. Other members of this forum are expected to join the proposed visit to Fiji for business meetings targeting their sectors of interest.
