Ambassador calls on the Secretary General, Asian Productivity Organisation (APO)

Ambassador HE Mr Mataitoga called on the recently elected Secretary General of the Asian Productivity Organization [APO] in Tokyo on 11 July 2011. Mr Ryuichiro Yamazaki took over as Secretary General of APO in May 2010. The primary purpose of the visit was to pay usual courtesies to the SG and to discuss some of the recommendations of the recently concluded APO Workshop on Renewable Energy that was held in Nadi, Fiji from 20-24 June 2011. The Ambassador was keen to progress a key recommendation of the workshop with regard to ‘Developing Academic Curricula for Renewable Energy’ given the training infrastructure that is available in Fiji particularly under the Fiji National University (FNU) that can accommodate this training program.
