Friendship Relations with Taketoyo Town, Aichi Prefecture

Taketoyo Town Mayor Mr Yoshiteru Momiyama paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador on Tuesday 30 November, 2010 to re-visit talks held in the past for the formal establishment of friendship relations with Nadi Town, Fiji under the Sister City concept. Mayor Mr Momiyama is keen to further explore this and to strengthen international exchanges with Fiji. Mayor Mr Momiyama and a group of Taketoyo officials visited Fiji in 2007 and again in 2008 as part of efforts to establish friendship relations with Nadi Town. Taketoyo Town will now consider a MOU to formalise the friendship relations. Taketoyo Town will be hosting a couple of major events in 2012 and 2013 and will be inviting Fiji Embassy Tokyo to participate in these events.
