Visit to Kanagawa Prefecture: Official Call on the Kanagawa Prefecture Governor

The Ambassador officially called on Governor Shigefumi Matsuzawa at the Kanagawa Prefecture Government Office on Thursday 19th August, 2010 to discuss expansion of Trade and Investment Cooperation opportunities with the business community in the Kanagawa Prefecture. This is based on existing business connections we already have with businesses and businessmen from Yokohama operating business in Fiji. The meeting also explored prospects of People to People exchanges in addition to Social and Cultural exchanges under the Sister City/Town concept.

Governor Matsuzawa observed the need for a Trade & Investment seminar for a full overview of investment prospects in Fiji. He has since advised his officials to consult the Kanagawa Chamber of Commerce on this. The Embassy will liaise with the International Division, Kanagawa Prefectural Government on this as well.
