Visit to Takanezawa: Official call on the Takanezawa Mayor (26 May 2010)

Following the call on the Governor of Tochigi Prefecture, the Ambassador also called on the Mayor of Takanezawa. Fiji’s appreciation of ongoing friendship ties developed with Sigatoka Town was extended to Mayor Takahashi Katsunori and how we remain optimistic of growing the relationship to cover other areas of exchanges and benefits. It was observed that potentials for growth and investment remain in the following sectors: Tourism, Agriculture, Manufacturing and Exchange Programs. Mayor Takahashi fully endorses the exchange system as a means of strengthening relations. Group tours/visits to Fiji by students and women social groups will be encouraged and pursued with Exchanges in other sectors to follow.
